The basic use of electric fencing is to control the movement of animals. Electric fences are used to create partition between different types of animals and define perimeters within which animals can move freely. Different types of animals have differing requirements so the kind of fencing used for them varies. Some of these types are given below:
- Electric horse fence are used to keep horses within a particular area. They basically consist of wires and cover a large area to make horses more comfortable. The electric fence posts are much higher so horses cannot gallop over them. A small current runs through these wires and if a horse tries to escape, it receives a small shock that is usually enough to scare it off.
- Electric Chicken Netting and electric rabbit netting is used to keep these small animals safe and confine them to smaller areas. The electric netting does not provide them with a chance to escape while also protecting them from foxes, cats and other such animals.
- Electric dog fences are usually of two types. The visible electric fence works in a similar manner as an electric horse fence. An invisible electric fence is a wire that is buried underneath the surface of earth. It keeps on emitting radio signals. Dog wears a collar and if he gets out of the range, the collar starts to beep. If the dog still tries to escape, he gets a small electric shock.
Animal electric fences are created so they cause minimal amount of harm to animals and are very effective.
